Leading the Way in Reducing Patient DNA's
Introducing i-Appointment Manager
Kingdom Technology is proud to introduce i-Appointment Manager, our AI driven solution that was developed to tackle patient ‘did not attend’ (DNA’s) challenge experienced by hospitals, GP practices, and health centers.
Recent analysis by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde found that 9.6% of primary care patients appointments were not attended, with every missed in-person appointment estimated to cost the NHS in the region of £233; this equates to a cost to the NHS of more than £200M a year (enough to pay for more than 2,000 doctors!).
i-Appointment also predicts the likely attendees and DNA’s on a daily basis to help with forward planning, including the scheduling of back-up patient appointments to avoid loss of clinical time and resource thereby further increasing efficiencies and reducing costs.
By implementing Kingdom’s AI driven i-Appointment solution, health organisations can dramatically reduce the number of missed patient appointments resulting in the reduction of DNA's by as much as 35%, bringing huge cost savings and efficiencies to the their organisation and to the NHS.
How i-Appointment Manager Works
i-Appointment utilises a number of machine learning models and algorithms that analyse the patterns of patient behaviour based on a number of factors; these include demographic details including age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, as well as individual patients’ appointment attendance history.
With this key data on the patients that are most at risk of not attending their appointments, i-Appointment Manager can automatically make contact with the most at risk patients on pre-defined days/times set by each health provider; this contact can either be by a text that includes a link for the patient to confirm their attendance, cancellation, or to reschedule their appointment (this can include their preference for either a virtual or face-to-face session, the former of which can also increase the patient’s likelihood to attend by approximately 10%).
i-Appointment Manager also Integrates seamlessly with health providers patient administration system (PAS) and/or appointment booking system to allow for the updated appointment status for each contacted patient.
Another key benefit of our system is that the gentle reminder telephone calls that are automatically made by i-Receptionist allows for patients to communicate with the virtual i-Appointment agent in a number of languages; once again the information gathered is fed straight into the health providers’ system(s) of choice.
i-Appointment Manager Key Features
With the NHS’s recent launch of a major drive to reduce hundreds of thousands of missed hospital appointments every month, to help boost the recovery of elective services, part of the biggest and most ambitious catch-up programme in NHS history, hospitals have been asked to ensure they are sending timely appointment reminders, improving processes for cancelling or rebooking, and considering remote appointments where appropriate, as well as implementing short notice lists, to contact patients last minute to help fill slots other patients cancel.
i-Appointment is an excellent tool that can significantly help each health board and health trust to meet their DNA targets and deliver the efficiencies and cost savings to the NHS which will in turn improve the service deliverables and patient outcomes.
i-Appointment Manager's key features include -
